A very long day began at 11 am this morning with Day 1 E and ended late at night with the end of today's second flight, Day 1 F, which totaled 605 entries.
In total today, adding up the two Day1s (E and F), there were well over 1,200 entries: not record numbers, but not too far off either, especially given the full house expected today. (CLICK HERE to see the detailed weekend plan).
Leading the pack today was the Greek Ioannis Kyriakopoulos (photo below), who thanks to a stack of 1,363,000 chips managed to jump to the top of the overall count, narrowly overtaking the Day1 chip leader. (CLICK HERE to read the complete report)
"Until level 14 I just survived, as I didn't see any big hands - said Ioannis - Then the hand that turned the tournament around, where I managed to win 2-2 against J-J after being left with 10BB. From then on, everything changed, I started to play a bit more aggressively and thanks to a good run, I made some important double-ups.
I'm an amateur, I don't do this for a living, but I know the principles of the game and I enjoy playing live."
The Top 5
Second place in today's count, as well as third in the overall count by just 1,000 chips (!), goes to Russian Roman Docenko with 1,341,000, followed by Switzerland's Luc Ramos at 1,047,000.
Germany's Peter Müller (989,000) and Romania's Narcis Dumitru (950,000) are top 5. Several regulars from the EuroRounders circuit (and others) also passed the Day, such as Edis Becic 356,000, Aliaksei Chernak 318,000, Abrechner 152,000, Giorgio Silvestrin Italy 144,000 and many others.
