More than a high roller it was a party. To see 96 entrants two levels from the end of late registration, in a tournament with a buy-in not normally found in Eurorounders events is a pleasant surprise from all points of view.
Both in terms of prestige, given the presence of numerous well-known faces from the international scene, and in terms of the variety of the offers of this second week of October: from the €350 Main, via the €500 HR to the €1,000 SHR, on this occasion, we didn't miss a thing!
The tournament
To begin with, let's have a quick look at the numbers: 96 total entries, of which 81 singles plus 15 re-entries and 57 players still in the running for the trophy, with registration open for the first two levels of play on the Final Day (80K stack and 40 blinds available for the "latecomers").
Eight levels were played last night and the best of all was German BobDBuilder (photo below), who the day before also took the lead in the Main Event by closing Day1C Speed at 908,000, the highest stack of all 4 Day1s played so far.
Argentinean pro Maria Lampropoulos (pictured below) could also have emulated the exploits of the German player, having finished in the lead on Day1 B speed of the Main, but the run was not on her side at the Super High Roller and today she will start from 53rd position in the count with 56,500 chips.
The Top 5
The second-best performance of the day belongs to another German, Rohat Arikan, who at the close of the envelopes can boast an impressive 380,000 chips, around 30,000 more than the third-placed player in the provisional ranking, the Romanian Marius Alexandru Gicovanu (349,000).
Two other Germans completed the Top 5: Oliver Paul Heidel (327,500) and M.FISCHER (295,000).
The best Italian of the day is the usual Marco di Persio, 12th at 172,000, who on the very last hand finds himself calling-mucking Aces in a controversial spot against the 2015 November Nine, Pierre Neuville, who follows him in 13th place with just a thousand chips less.
Many circuit regulars, Italian and otherwise, responded, starting with the winner of the last CNP "Eriknitro" (17th at 144,500), as well as the Germans, "Virus" (15th at 163,500) and Abrechner (16th at 147,500).
Marcello Miniucchi's name also came up in 21st place with 128,500, while in 44th place was the winner of the Sanremo 2023 IPO High Roller, "Lucky777UA" 79,000 chips. The complete list of all qualifiers for the final day follows.
