Entries 173/ Left 22

After more than 16 full levels of play, Day 1D of the France Poker Festival (FPF) Main Event has come to a close at King’s Resort. The fourth starting flight drew 173 entries, with 22 players advancing to Sunday’s Day 2.
They’ll join the 23 qualifiers from Days 1A, 1B, and 1C. A full chip count summary for those flights is available at the bottom of this page, along with the complete Day 1D standings.
As we weren’t able to catch up with the chip leader of the day, Christophe-Olivier Rodriguez (left pic), who bagged a leading stack of 701,000 chips. However, we did speak with the second-largest stack, Dutch player Buddha (right pic below), who ended Day 1D of the Main Event with 675,000 chips. Here's what he told us at the end of the day:
“I was very lucky today. I had quad fours against aces — that was huge,” said Webedelt. “Earlier though, I did lose with aces against a two pair on the turn… so yeah, it was a bit of a rollercoaster. But I think I was sharp and present in all the important spots.
How about the quads? I opened to 23,000 and someone re-raised me to 50,000. I decided to call with pocket fours. The flop came four-four-deuce — quads. I checked, he bet 50K, I called. Then the turn brought a three. I checked again and he shoved all-in. Of course, I called. That was the biggest pot of the day for sure.”
It’s been a long time since I’ve ended Day 1 as chip leader in a tournament like this. I play quite a bit, and I actually won a Main Event a while back — it was also part of the French Poker Series. Hopefully, this will be my second big run. I’m feeling confident!”
Top 5
As for the top 5 of the day, alongside chip leader Christophe-Olivier Rodriguez and Dutch player Budda, who bagged 701,000 and 675,000 respectively, we find Andrei-Alexandru Sasu in third position with around 512,000 chips. He’s followed by fellow countryman Mickey Mouse with 489,000, and Reza R from Germany, who closed with 487,000.
Below you’ll find the full list of the 22 players who qualified for Day 2 from this Day 1D flight. Further down, you can also check out the summary of chip counts from the first three flights — Days 1A, 1B, and 1C.
