Entries 252/ Left 32

Day 1E of the FPF France Poker Festival has just come to an end. The Main Event gathered 252 entries today, bringing 32 players through to Day 2 on Sunday, who will of course be added to the qualifiers from the first four flights played in the previous days.

The best among them today was the French player Jérémy Raubert (left pic below), who ended the day with a 786,000-chip stack. We weren’t able to catch him, as he left right after bagging and wasn’t particularly keen on giving interviews.

We did, however, catch up with the second-place finisher, the ever-present Spaniard Juan Velasco Farre (right pic below), who once again showed his talent, riding a very strong period for him, and bagging 620,000 chips. Here’s what he told us right after the end of play.

"You have to give me a bit of room to breathe — I’m exhausted! But I fought all the way to the end. I stayed focused until the final stretch, even though the cards just didn’t come. I tried to go for the chip lead, and I think I finished second, which is good anyway.

I’m in a good period right now. I feel I’m playing well, even back in Spain, things have been going really smoothly. Now I just want to win something, and I came here today with that goal in mind. Let’s see if it happens!"

Top 5

Looking at the top 5, along with the already mentioned Jérémy Raubert and Juan Velasco Farre, we find Romanian Gabriel Dobromir Rymar with 504,000, followed by two fellow countrymen: Catalin Pirvan with 490,000 and Scharlatan with 453,000.

Below is the full list of the 32 players who qualified for Day 2 on Sunday from Day 1E.
