Entries 2545/ Left 39

Day 2 of the France Poker Festival Main Event has just wrapped up here at King’s Resort in Rozvadov, after an impressive 2,545 total entries. Tomorrow, 39 players will return for the Final Day, all chasing a €55,500 top prize, along with a ticket to the WSOP Europe Main Event.

Leading the pack is Germany’s Hossein Mansour Hosseini, who held the chip lead for long stretches throughout the day and bagged an impressive 6,775,000 chips — roughly three times the tournament average at this stage.

Here’s what he had to say right after the end of play:

"The day didn’t start well. I was down about 300,000 chips pretty early on, maybe even a bit more. But then I went on a run — hit three or four strong hands in a row — and suddenly I was up to around 3.3 or 3.5 million.

At my first table, things were pretty stable. I stayed at around 3.5 million for a good three hours. Then I got moved, and again hovered around the same stack size. After yet another table change, I picked up a small pot and climbed to around 4.7 million.

Later, I won a big hand with a straight on the flop. My opponent had three of a kind and clearly didn’t see it coming — I had the straight with a deuce. He probably expected to make a full house or didn’t think I’d play it that way. I managed to get full value on that one.

Now I’m sitting comfortably with about three times the average and just waiting for the right spots. I’m not a professional — I only play a few times a year — but I really enjoy it. I just come here to have fun and take my shot."
