The second of today’s two flights — Day 1H Speed, with 30-minute levels — has also come to an end here at King’s Resort Rozvadov, where the IPS Italian Poker Sport Main Event is entering its hottest phase.
The standout performer of the day, and new overall chip leader, is Portugal’s Daniel Cruz, who bagged a massive 1,942,000 chips. In the final hands of the night, right around the bubble, Cruz managed to extend his lead even further, pulling away from the field and sealing the top spot in the overall count.
Here’s what he told us just moments after bagging up:

“It went really well. Everything has been running smoothly today. I’m not a professional player — I just play for fun — but I picked up some great spots early on. I got good hands, including pocket aces twice, and managed to win both pots without any trouble. The rest of the day was just steady, normal hands played in a simple way.
Right from the first hand, when I doubled up, I felt it could be the kind of day where I’d finish as chip leader. And that’s exactly how it turned out. Hopefully things will keep going this way tomorrow.”
Top 5
As for today’s Top 5, behind the already–mentioned chip leader with 1,942,000, we find Riccardo Saraniero on 1,254,000, followed closely by Dritan Kaleci with 1,151,000. The Top 5 is completed by Georgia’s Merab Meladze at 1,025,000 and Denis Moravec with 997,000.
Below you will find the full list of all 98 qualifiers from Day 1H, who will return tomorrow for Day 2 with their respective stacks.
