Entries 157/Left 24

Day 1D of the IPS – Italian Poker Sport – Main Event has just come to an end, with a total of 157 entries and 24 more players securing a seat for Day 2, scheduled for next Monday.

The day wrapped up relatively quickly compared to the previous flight, as the bubble burst didn’t take long to arrive. Stealing the spotlight and topping the provisional chip count is Finland’s Rasmus Lundstrunt, who became the first player to surpass the 900,000 chip mark. Here’s what he told us right after bagging:

"The tournament went well, definitely. I was pretty comfortable and confident the whole time. During the bubble, I had several spots where I could put pressure on opponents and often hit big draws. I would open pre-flop, and many people liked to call.

Sometimes I ended up opening marginal hands like Jack 3 suited. I remember one instance where the flop came high, with a King and Queen. The turn brought an Ace, which helped my range because most of the hands calling in that spot didn’t have an Ace.

Even though with Jack 3 I only had a gutshot straight draw, I was able to overbet, and my opponent folded. That’s just one example of many similar hands I played during the bubble, and in the end, everything went smoothly.

Am I a professional? Yeah, poker has been my main source of income for quite some time. But now I mostly play live because I’m still studying at university.

The courses I’m taking, especially those on statistics and probability, I find not only easy but really interesting. I genuinely enjoy studying them."
