Entries 102/Left 15

The Day 1H Speed, the second of today’s two scheduled flights at the IPS – Italian Poker Sport Main Event, has just wrapped up, drawing a total of 102 entries and sending 15 more players through to Sunday’s Day 2.
Topping the field is a well-known face on both the national and international poker circuits: Claudio Di Giacomo, who bagged 855,000 chips, securing himself a spot in the overall top 10 chip counts.
Here’s what he had to say right after bagging.

"I actually played two flights today—well, officially just one, but you know how the re-entries go. I started off well this afternoon, built my stack up to almost 200K pretty quickly. Then I lost a couple of hands, a 70/30 spot and a flip, and after that I was short and eventually busted out.
I decided to jump into the evening Speed flight, late-regged at Level 7—pretty much max late. Luckily, I ran a bit better there. I saw some good hands toward the end, and honestly, that’s when you want to see them. Things went smoothly, and I bagged up a decent stack.
I’ve heard from other regulars too—it seems the field here is even softer than at the IPT, despite the venue being quite prestigious. Maybe it’s the timing, with a lot of amateurs here on holiday. The field feels more passive overall.
But of course, it depends on the table. In my case, it went well. If people keep paying you off, the secret is simple: just bet."
