Entries 84/Left 13

The Day 1I of the IPS – Italian Poker Sport Main Event has just wrapped up here at the Casino di Sanremo, with a total of 84 entries and 13 players advancing to Day 2, which is scheduled to start at 5 PM – about an hour from now.
Stealing the spotlight is another Italian, Riccardo Saraniero, who bagged 596,000 chips, edging out French player Jenson Gamet, who finished second with 572,000. Here’s what the Day 1 chip leader had to say shortly after bagging.

"It was a great experience here in Sanremo. Believe it or not, this was actually my seventh bullet—yeah, I fired six times before this one finally went the right way. I registered at the very last minute, and luckily, it paid off.
Right before the bubble burst, I played a key hand. UTG open-shoved 5x, and I called with Ace-Ten. He showed pocket Tens, but I spiked an Ace and took down the pot. That was definitely the turning point for my tournament.
As for the field here, it feels pretty soft, quite manageable. And as for me, well, I was “the good-looking one” at the table—not in terms of appearance, of course, but in the sense that I was the lively one, the guy putting in the most action."
Top 5
As for the Top 5, alongside Riccardo Saraniero (596,000) and Jenson Gamet (572,000), we find Luca Ghirardotti in third place with 527,000, followed by Toppi Proietti with 431,000, and Alessandro Toninello rounding out the top five with 342,000.
Below is the full list of the 13 players who qualified through Day 1I and will return with their bags in just about an hour to the main hall of the Casino di Sanremo.
