Entries 1.047/Left 19

The IPS - Italian Poker Sport - €500,000 GTD Main Event wrapped up its Day 2 with 19 players advancing from a total field of 1,047 entries, all part of a spectacular weekend of poker at the end of May and start of June.

The chip leader at the end of the day is Andrei Chiriliuc, who bagged 5,590,000 chips after a dominant performance, built by consistently applying pressure at the table — as he shared in a quick post-day interview you can read below.

"Day 2 was more complicated than expected. I pulled off a really good bluff with a blocker — it worked, and that gave me a solid stack. From there, I just kept applying pressure at the table.

I hovered around 1.5 to 2 million for a few levels, then suddenly jumped up to around 5.6 million. It all came together pretty smoothly.

It’s my second time here in Italy, but I usually play your series in Liechtenstein because I live in Basel. The atmosphere here is great though — really friendly, lots of sunshine, and a fun summer vibe.

I try not to focus only on poker. I’m also here to enjoy some holidays. I used to play professionally a few years ago, but now I work full-time in Switzerland. Poker is more of a hobby these days — still fun, but not my main job anymore."

Rasmus Lundström of Finland takes fourth with 3,715,000, followed by Mario Perati, fifth with 3,515,000 — another solid showing.
