Day 1H of the People’s Poker Tour Main Event has come to an end here at the Perla Resort, with 82 players qualifying out of a total of 257 entries, marking the first of the two flights scheduled today.
The standout performer of the day was Donato De Bernardis, who bagged the chip lead with 693,000 chips. Here’s what he told us right after the bags came out:
“It was a really lucky day. I got there three times in good spots and things went my way, and then I was lucky once again even without being ahead. Overall, everything worked out perfectly.
I mainly grind online and this is only one of my first live events — maybe my sixth or seventh. I’m happy with how it went and I hope I can keep playing just as well on Day 2.”
Top 5
Looking at the Top 5, alongside De Bernardis at 693,000 we find Giuseppe Liotta close behind with 690,000, followed by Maria Elena Giunchi on 643,000.
