Entries 461/ Left 47
Day 1A of the Pirates Poker Treasure Main Event has just concluded, with 461 entries bringing 47 more players to Day 2 on Sunday. Today’s chip leader is also the overall chip leader, as Austria’s Maximilian Georg Huber (pic below) managed to amass an impressive 1,600,000 chips, taking the top spot in the overall count.
Unable to get a statement from Huber, we turned to the second in chips, Romanian Daniel Gabriel Manea (pic below), who ended the day with 1,360,000. Manea shared the following at the end of the day:
“It wasn’t an easy day, even though I managed to accumulate a great stack in the end. I played two bullets—the first didn’t go particularly well, but thankfully, with a lot of patience, I built up a decent stack before the dinner break and then started to play more aggressively.
I won two key hands with pocket 4s against K-7 and A-10—two flips that went my way. I also pulled off some important bluffs. I’m very happy with my performance. I’m not a professional, but I really enjoy playing poker. This isn’t the first time I’ve finished as a chip leader either—it also happened to me at a Spanish poker festival."
Top 5
As for the Top 5, in addition to the already mentioned Maximilian Georg Huber and Daniel Gabriel Manea, with 1,600,000 and 1,360,000 chips, respectively, we find Swiss player Stefan Jauslin in third place with 1,235,000. He is followed by Romanian Neculai Macovei with 914,000 and Turkish player Özgür Leba with 791,000.
