Day 2 of the 🏴‍☠️ Pirate’s Poker Treasure – Mystery Bounty Main Event has just come to an end after attracting a massive 1,531 total entries. The field has now been reduced to 28 players, all advancing to the Final Day, scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 22.

The standout performer of the day was Romania’s Stefan Drusca, who closed the session with a commanding 9,710,000 chips, roughly three times the tournament average. Very close behind is Lulei Hu, the Italian-Chinese regular, who bags 9,490,000 chips after being one of the most dominant figures on the tournament floor. While Drusca spent most of the day at the Feature Table, Hu followed a different path — yet the outcome was the same, as the two clearly set the pace throughout Day 2.

Both players were interviewed at the end of the night to share their thoughts after a long and demanding session. We start, naturally, with the Day 2 chip leader, Stefan Drusca, who also scooped a 30K bounty today.

“I won a lot of hands today, but not really with premium pairs or anything like that. I mostly used my big stack to put pressure on the other players, and that worked well.

I’m feeling pretty confident going into tomorrow. I really hope I can make at least €100,000 here, because poker-wise it’s been a very bad year for me, and this result would mean a lot.

One of the key hands came near the end of the day, maybe six hands before the finish. I opened from middle position with A-T suited, and the player who was chip leader at the time three-bet me.

I decided to call. The flop came 9-5-2 with two diamonds, and I had the flush draw. He bet almost pot, I shoved all-in, and he called with T-9 of clubs. The flush came on the river.

That hand gave me a huge boost. Now let’s hope for the best tomorrow.”

“I started the day with around 700,000 chips, and by the end, I was up to about 9 million. It definitely went very well, and yes, I also ran pretty well.

At the beginning, I played quite aggressively, then later in the day, I picked up a couple of big hands that really helped. In one spot, a player shoved with ace-x, and I had pocket aces, so that one went smoothly.

On another hand, a player with around 2 million chips pushe,d and again I was holding aces, so everything worked out perfectly.

Overall, things went my way today. I’m heading into tomorrow in a really strong position, which obviously feels great. Hopefully we’ll get the chance to talk again later on.”
