Day 1E of the €2,000,000 GTD Euro Poker Million wrapped up with 717 entries and 89 players securing a seat for Day 2. This was the first of two flights scheduled for today, Friday, July 18.
The best of the day was Dutchman Oscar Chang, who, playing under his unique nickname, managed to bag 1,600,000 chips, breaking through the 1.5M mark and placing himself among the very top stacks in the overall count.
Here’s what today’s standout performer had to say moments after sealing his impressive result.

“Yeah, it was a smooth day overall. Everything just seemed to flow nicely at the tables. I found myself running good in some key spots—like when I hit trip threes, that was definitely a turning point. And even in the last level, things kept going my way. I was getting hands, winning pots… it felt easy.
I’ve been in this position before, ending the day near the top of the chip counts, so I know how to handle it. For a tournament like this—with such a big field, multiple starting days, and 80-minute levels—you really need to pace yourself.
Now that the bubble has already burst, my plan for Day 2 is to start out playing quite tight and just observe the table dynamics. There’s no need to push too hard in the early stages; I’ll pick my spots carefully and adjust as the day progresses. It’s been a solid start, and I’m happy with how things went.”
