The morning flight, Day 1E Turbo, has finally come to an end here at King’s Resort Rozvadov. Played with 12-minute levels in an attempt to speed up the action, the plan didn’t quite work as expected. The day dragged on into the early hours as the bubble phase turned into a marathon, with countless short stacks doubling up and extending the grind.

In the end, play reached Level 30 (30,000/60,000 with a 60,000 big blind ante) before the field was trimmed down to the final 12.5%. France’s Julien Combié emerged as the standout performer, bagging an enormous 1,750,000 chips. That’s the equivalent of 175 big blinds going into Day 2—enough to secure the top spot on the overall leaderboard heading into Sunday’s action. We caught up with Combié for a quick word after the bagging process:

“I fired several bullets over the past few days and eventually had to play the turbo flight. Thankfully, things turned around for me. After building a strong stack of about a million, I was able to capitalize on the bubble phase. With the blinds so high, my stack started to carry real weight at the table.”

As no official Top 5 was recorded for this flight—with players sent directly into Day 2—we invite you to follow our live blog for all updates and chip counts from this spectacular €2,000,000 GTD Main Event.
