Day 1E of the Shark Bay Main Event has just come to an end, marking the most crowded flight so far with 445 entries. A total of 56 players have secured their spot for Day 2, which will take place on Sunday at 5:00 PM.

Today’s chip leader is Ye Xiaojie, a Chinese player with Italian roots, who managed to bag well over 1,200,000 chips, securing the top spot and the two special tickets awarded to the day’s chip leaders: one for the upcoming Wolf Millionaire Main Event, and the other for the WSOP Europe Colossus (€550 value). Here’s what today’s standout player had to say right after bagging:

“Today went really well — everything clicked. The spots ran good, I held in all the showdowns and didn’t lose a single one, so I can’t complain.

I’m actually from Milan, not Prato like some might think. I’m here kind of by chance — a friend of mine, Lu Lei Hu, who won the last EPM, is on vacation and we just happened to meet up here today.

Let’s hope it brings some luck this time!”
