🇮🇹 Regalbuto on fire on Day1D, 9 at Day2

Updated: Apr 8, 2023

Entries 93/left 9

The atmosphere is starting to heat up here at the King's Resort in Rozvadov and today's numbers confirm it.

In addition to the 14 qualifiers from the previous 3 Day1s, there were also 9 survivors from the afternoon's Day1 D, which saw the entry counter stopping at 93, of which 75 were unique (plus 18 re-entries).

The Sicilian show

SERGIO REGALBUTO's was a day to be framed given the huge stack accumulated over the 18 levels played, starting at 12 noon this morning.

One million, 700 thousand, and change, which is more than double what his direct pursuer, the Romanian 🇷🇴 TEODOR NEGREA (830,000), stuffed into his plastic envelope.

Sergio Regalbuto in action

The turning hand came at 16 left, where Sergio managed to almost triple his stack with a pair of Aces holding against the hands of his two opponents, both looking for a flush that did not materialize.

On the next hand, a flush flopped with A♦️5♦️ on K♦️J♦️9♦️ sends Safwane Anwar Bahri home(one of the two bubble men together with Lubos Pok), who decides to move all-in already on the flop with less than a pot-size bet in a three-bet pot, with his set of Kings that does not improve between turn and river.

The cherry on top comes to at the last hand, on which Sergio performs a double check-call between turn and river on 4♦️K♦️4♣️ 3♥️ 2♣️: we are in a three-way pot with one of the players already all-in and his opponent decides to bet for value with 4♥️ 8♣️ hoping to find a call with some K-x.

Regalbuto, however, is on one of those nights where he could find diamonds by sticking his arm in the sand and with 6♦️5♦️catches an unreadable straight, especially for who's in front of him.

The incredulous face of someone who thought he was value-betting a trip taken on the flop

The rest of the pack

The third-place finisher of this Day1 D hides behind the nickname 🇩🇪HBKDK, for him 590,000 chips, or about a third of the stack of the day's chip leader.

The same goes for 🇳🇱 MR SRI-LANKA (563,000) in fourth place, closely followed by Poland's 🇵🇱 GRZEGORZ IRENEUSZ WYRAZ (496,000).
