Day 2 of the IPS Italian Poker Sport Main Event has concluded with 79 players remaining, halfway through Level 22 at 25k/50k/50k. The average stack is 2.5 million chips, with two players tied for the lead.
The Algerian Abdellah Baali bagged 6,800,000 chips, while Greek player Pavlos Tomasz finished with 6,785,000.
Ukrainian player Divino sits on 6,665,000 after winning a monster pot against Italy’s Fulvio Preda, pocket jacks versus pocket nines. Preda finished in 88th place after leading the counts for almost the entirety of Day 2.
Rounding out the top ten are Vietnamese player Anh Vu Le, with 4,840,000 chips, and Bulgarian Hristo Dimitrov, with 4,735,000.
Le lost a monster pot while bluffing against Germany’s Captain Dirk, who called the river jam with a pair of sixes against the Vietnamese player’s A-K. Despite the setback, Le finishes with roughly twice the average stack, while the German player is just below average.
The highest-placed Italian is Lulei Hu, with 4,510,000 chips after a Day 2 full of ups and downs and major stack fluctuations. The 2025 EPM winner remains in contention in the historic Euro Rounders format, the Italian Poker Sport.
Just outside the top ten is Luciano Frezza, with 4,005,000 chips. Bulgarian player vierviervier, who was the long-time chip leader during Day 2, has the same stack.
Despite losing a pot to Alessio Liscia during the final hands, Andrea Scarrone bagged 3,830,000 chips. The Sardinian player who completed a straight with T-T will return with 3,700,000, the same stack as Davide Muccitelli.
Also worth highlighting are Riccardo Saraniero, who enjoyed an excellent Day 2, and Sergio Di Ruberto, the Day 1D chip leader. Both players are above average.
lollolollo66, who began with just 180,000 chips, finished the day with 1,620,000 and remains in contention.
The 79 remaining players have already secured €1,415, but the dream is to win the Euro Rounders “flower” trophy and the €150,000 first prize. The top ten finishers will also receive a €3,000 package for the King’s Million European Poker Festival.
Play resumes today at 2 p.m., with 35 minutes remaining in Level 22 at 25k/50k/50k.
