Play went on well into the night in the poker room of the Casino di Sanremo and at the end of Day 1 G here are 173 more last-minute qualifiers for Day 2 scheduled for today.
Caution prevailed in the last available flight because the important thing, after all, was to qualify and many preferred to bag a few chips rather than risk too much and find themselves without even one chip due to luck...
A woman ahead of everyone
Best of all was Frenchwoman Loubna El Filali, who bagged 467,000 at the end of the day, beating second, Jean Francois Subrini (373,000) and third, Francesco Marrone (357,000) by almost a hundred thousand chips.
"It was a fantastic tournament, I'm so happy", says Loubna, "I raised right away, but after a few orbits I lost a bad beat with A-K, but I held on and luck rewarded me thanks to a nice doubling with Pair of Jacks.
Otherwise, the caution of the players and the fact that I had a decent stack to manage helped me make a few more chips and here I am!"
The other qualifiers
Alessio La Francesca, aka 'Lafal', secured a pass for Day 2 by finishing in 16th place with 246,000 chips. Along with him, mission was accomplished also for Luigi D'Alterio after several attempts (189,000) as well as Matteo Calzoni (180,000)
Among the qualifiers, we also find the top Argentinean regular Maria Lampropoulos (113,000) who has been responding lately to Eurorounders events. Glory also for Alessandro Minasi at 103,000 chips.
