Day 3 of the IPO, Italian Poker Open Main Event, has also come to an end, with 3,432 entries officially recorded. Tomorrow, eight finalists will return to play the Final Table, live-streamed on our YouTube channel, all aiming to claim the €210,000 first-place prize.

The action stretched until around 1 a.m., after starting precisely at 1 p.m. the day before — 12 hours of play, including breaks. The best performer of the day was Italian Andrea De Vincenzo, who bagged 39,400,000 chips, equivalent to 66 big blinds when play resumes. Below are his statements at the end of the day:

"It was actually a tough day, even if it doesn’t look like it. I spent hours just hovering around 20x, 15x stacks. There were a few key spots, but one in particular came when we were down to 13 players left after the dinner break. UTG+1 opened and I defended my big blind with A♣4♣ suited, sitting on 24 big blinds.

Flop gave me bottom pair with a backdoor flush draw — it went check-check. The turn was a 3, giving me the flush draw. I checked, he made a small bet, and I called. On the river I made second nuts. I checked, he went for a big bet and then jammed. I called. Turns out he had turned a set. Crushed.

The very next hand, blind vs blind, I had pocket jacks. Big blind decided to rip 20x with A-3 offsuit, and in two hands I went from short to deep. In the end, I saw that he busted before the final table, so it kind of worked itself out.

I’m definitely happy — even though it’s not over yet. It’s my biggest final table so far. It’s tough, but I’ve got more appetite than nerves. I couldn’t have started better. We’ll see how it goes from here!"

As for the Top 5, in addition to the already mentioned Andrea De Vincenzo, we find Guido Secchieri with 34,050,000 chips, Eugenio Peralta with 22,850,000, Michel Calot with 17,075,000, and Andrea Benelli with 8,650,000.
