Sergio Di Ruberto leads Day 1D of the IPS Italian Poker Sport Main Event at King’s Resort, Rozvadov. The Italian has bagged 1,788,000 chips, compared with an average stack of 493,000.
The flight attracted 503 entries, with 76 players reaching the money and 51 qualifying for Day 2.
The former shopkeeper, now retired and passionate about poker, has moved into the overall chip lead among all starting flights. It was a perfect day for him, and in his post-Day 1 interview he said that he had never bluffed.
In second place is Andrea Scarrone with 1,254,000 chips, followed by Sapir Dym with 1,142,000.
Riccardo Saraniero also makes the top five with 1,130,000. He made a fold with QQ after an opponent showed aggressive action with JJ. Winning that pot would have taken him above 2 million chips.
Rounding out the top five is Czech player Filip Mikulas.
Italy also has Antonio Iannei on 766,000 and Davide Muccitelli on 705,000, both inside the top 10.
Other notable stacks include King’s Resort regular Toni Ravnak with 672,000, Italian player Tonino “Cardia Puddi” with 655,000, Andrea Piazza with 366,000, Lollolollo66 with 189,000, and Sascha Guarino with 164,000.
