With 1,657 entries and 164 players advancing to today’s Day 2 at 5 PM, Day 1G of the EPM Main Event is the second-largest starting flight in the history of King’s Resort Rozvadov and of this event.
There was a big shuffle at the top of the counts right at the end, with the chip lead worth a €1,150 ticket for October’s King’s Million, featuring a €5M guarantee.
Swedish Johan Koehl snatches first place from Francesco Di Profio and Luca Moschella: all three players bag over 1.6M, and another four players finish above 1.5M. It’s incredibly tight at the top, with the top 5 completed by German player ROB and Lithuanian Svajunas Seduikis.
Just before the bubble burst, Moschella won the decisive pot.
He opened to 60,000 (3x at 20,000 blinds) from the cutoff, the button short stack jammed and the small blind reshoved:
Moschella: Q-Q
Button: 2-2
SB: A-J
In ninth position, Roman player Graziano Cantiani, who stayed near the top of the counts all Day 1G, bags 1,368,000 chips.
Also through with 1,124,000 is two-time WSOPE bracelet winner Ermanno Di Nicola, and over the one-million mark we also find Max Petrosillo, Serena Rosetti and Michele Manucci.
The 164 survivors have already locked up the €1,200 min cash, but they’ve all got their eyes on the massive prize pool which, pending the Turbo flight and the Flip & Go Pineapple, stands at €3,015,018.
