Entries 229/Left 35

The Day 1C of the €1,500 WSOP Circuit Main Event has just wrapped up here at King’s Resort, drawing a total of 229 entries and sending 35 players through to Day 2, which will resume tomorrow at 5:00 PM.

Leading the field at the end of the day is Germany’s Helmut Phung, who bagged 978,000 chips. Phung continues an impressive run at King’s Resort, having recently claimed the €45,000 Top Bounty in the Pirates Poker Treasure Mystery Bounty and also reaching the final table in that event, narrowly missing out on an even bigger result.

“It went really well today, actually. Toward the end I was one of the big stacks at the table, and I focused on putting a lot of pressure on the bubble. That was the key moment — applying pressure there really made the difference, and everything worked out from that point on.

I stuck to that approach and played my game all the way through.

As for other events, no — today I only played the Main Event. I came here specifically for that.”
