To call it a “predicted victory” would be a stretch—even considering the chip stacks at the start of the Final Day. But what Mario Perati accomplished once the unofficial final table was reached is nothing short of outstanding. The Italo-Albanian player switched gears at the perfect moment, taking full control of the table and claiming his first EuroRounders trophy, along with a €70,000 payday thanks to a five-way deal.

Perati began the final table as chip leader, followed by Moldovan Andrei Chiriliuc—who had already shined on Day 2—and Italy’s Riccardo Saraniero. While the stacks weren’t too far apart, Perati’s momentum was undeniable.

Perati strikes again (in Sanremo)

No need to sugarcoat it — Mario Perati crushed the IPS Main Event Final Day. With relentless pressure and a dominant chip lead, he left his opponents with little room to fight back.

“I had a lot of chips, everything was going really well,” he told us right after the win. “Riccardo realized everyone had 20 big blinds, and in twenty minutes we’d all have 15. From that point on, it would’ve been really tough for them to do anything, because I’d be applying much more pressure.”

And so the table made an offer — slightly below the first-place prize — but with the trophy in Perati’s hands.

“Yes, they surrendered. And we’re happy,” he smiled.

Perati played his game the way he always does: aggressive, but calculated.

“I always stick to my style — aggressive when there’s room for it, but without going overboard. Everything went smoothly. I’m very happy.”

Experience, he admits, played a major role in the win. “I got a good seat draw, good positions. At one point before the final table, a foreign player had twice my stack, but hand after hand, I wore him down. Around 10 left, I played a lot of hands without risking too much, just slowly chipping away at others.”

It’s Perati’s second major title in six months. And now?

“I don’t know if the others want to book second place already for the next one. Maybe they’ll avoid me… But hey, they say things come in threes. Let’s hope so. See you next time!”

Final Table – Chip Count

  1. 🇮🇹 Mario Perati – 13,825,000

  2. 🇲🇩 Andrei Chiriliuc – 12,175,000

  3. 🇮🇹 Riccardo Saraniero – 6,400,000

  4. 🇷🇴 Cristian Andrei – 4,775,000

  5. 🇮🇹 Mario Angelo Dossetto – 4,750,000

  6. 🇮🇹 Antonio Iannei – 3,750,000

  7. 🇨🇿 Josef Gulaš – 3,475,000

  8. 🇮🇹 Marco Linari – 2,900,000

A quick recap before the deal

The first to exit the final table was Cristian Andrei, who lost a coin flip against Josef Gulas: 7♠7♦ versus A♠10♣, with a 9♣ on the turn sealing his fate. Shortly after, Mario Dossetto and Marco Linari followed him to the rail, cashing for €10,000 and €12,500 respectively, while Linari secured €16,000 for 6th place.

Once play reached five-handed, Perati extended his lead significantly, holding over 80 big blinds while all the other players hovered between 15 and 20. A deal was proposed and quickly agreed upon: Mario Perati would receive the trophy and €70,000 as the moral (and actual) winner, while Antonio Iannei, Andrei Chiriliuc, Riccardo Saraniero, and Josef Gulas would each lock up €36,455.
