Day 1E of the People’s Poker Tour Main Event wrapped up around 11 PM, closing the books on a flight that drew 506 total entries and sent 64 players through to Day 2, scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 29.

The day was dominated by Italian player Matteo Intiso, who bagged an impressive 1,326,000 chips, finishing as the overall chip leader. After a strong showing, Intiso had this to say about his performance:

ree

"What a day — ended up as overall chip leader. Got a nice gift with 10 left, in a 3-bet pot. First two hands after the table change, I open with Ace-Queen suited, they 3-bet, and the board comes Ace-Queen-Nine rainbow.

Check, I bet, he calls. Turn is a 2, he checks again, I fire another bet, and he calls. River bricks, and he shoves with King-Nine suited. I snap it off with top two. Stack shoots up to a million.

By now I feel pretty confident in these Day 1s, even in huge fields. As long as we don’t get hit by any atomic suckouts, we usually manage to bag a nice stack — and this time, on a budget too."
