Entries 152/Left 21

Although it started later than Day 1C, Day 1D finished about half an hour earlier than the first flight, adding another 152 entries and producing 21 qualifiers for Day 2.

The best performer was the Italian player Alessandro Confalone, who bagged 656,000 chips at a stage where the blinds had reached 10,000/20,000/20,000 — exactly double the level at which play will resume on Day 2. Here are his immediate post-day impressions.

"Today went well. When you bag a stack, it’s always a good day, right? I played the turbo flight, and it was my first and only try. I got here around 8:30 p.m., registered, and jumped straight in.

Early on I dropped a bit in a pretty ugly hand: I had ace-four suited, he had ace-queen, and from there I went down to about fifteen thousand. But after that I started climbing again. A few good showdowns, some fortunate spots, and the table was fairly manageable.

In the end I switched tables four times, but everything went smoothly. The important thing is I bagged, and now it’s all about Day 2"

Top 5

Regarding the top of the leaderboard, behind Confalone’s 656,000 we find Fabien Motte with 654,000 and Thomas Frouin with 653,000. Alex Sampirisi (516,000) and Eric Musso (508,000) close out the top group.

Below, as always, is the full list of the 21 Day 1D qualifiers advancing to Day 2.
