Entries 167/ Left 24
The Day 1F of the Euro Poker Million (EPM), with a guaranteed prize pool of one million Swiss francs, concluded at 2:45 a.m., after starting at 5:00 p.m. This “Speed” flight saw 167 entries, with 24 players securing a spot in Day 2, scheduled for Sunday.
Additionally, a ticket for the World Poker Tour (WPT) Main Event in Las Vegas was up for grabs. The winner of this ticket was, unsurprisingly, the day’s chip leader, Swiss player Daniel Josef F.
Still thrilled from the exciting day he just experienced, here’s what he had to say immediately after the game:
Am I happier about the chip lead or the €10K ticket? I still can’t believe it—I’m overwhelmed with emotions. It’s incredible, especially for someone like me who usually only plays tournaments with a €100 buy-in!
I’ve only been to Vegas once when I was 21, and ten years later, I’ll be going back to play the biggest tournament of my life!
Today’s tournament? Lots of ups and downs—I lost with Aces but also won with Aces against the same opponent. I was an online grinder a few years ago, but over time, with work, responsibilities, and everything else, I decided to take a different path.
I think this is the best day I’ve ever had since I started playing poker, and there’s still a long way to go! I’m still in disbelief—it’s amazing!
