The Pirate’s Poker Treasure Main Event wraps up with a statement win by France’s Safwane Anwar Bahri, who topped a massive field of 3,217 entries and locked up the lion’s share of a €1,500,000 guaranteed prize pool.
A thrilling ride from start to finish — not just for the high-level action at the final table, but also thanks to a deep and well-structured format. From Day 2 onward, levels extended to 75 minutes, giving players plenty of room to manoeuvre, especially in the late stages.
A truly impeccable tournament run for France’s Safwane Anwar Bahri, who took home just over €100,000 and a ticket to the upcoming WSOPE Europe Main Event, defeating Alessandro Pagliuso in heads-up play. Pagliuso, who had entered the final three as chip leader, started the duel at a 3-to-1 disadvantage.
Third place went to Spanish player Fernando Alonso, followed by Marko Bajic in fourth and Jakub Sterba in fifth. Angelo De Marco secured sixth place, while Neculai Macovei finished seventh. Artem Komarov took eighth, and closing out the final table in ninth place was Andrei Alexandru Ciuca.

“This is my first real win,” Bahri said after lifting the trophy. “Even though I’ve had bigger scores in the past, I had never actually taken one down. Doing it here, with all my friends on the rail, makes it even more special.”
The Frenchman hadn’t played for several months before this event — he’d been travelling — and called this result “exactly what I needed” before heading to Las Vegas for the WSOP.
“I’m pumped. I feel ready for the Series as never before!” he added with a grin.

Part 2
Now, let’s retrace the key hands and eliminations that shaped this memorable final table.
Andrei Ciuca busts in 9th place!

The first elimination of the Final Table comes just a few minutes into play and sees Romanian player Andrei Ciuca open from UTG+1 with Q♦ Q♥, sitting on a stack of around 23 big blinds. Action folds to Jakub Sterba in the cutoff, who covers him comfortably with 60 big blinds and looks down at K♠ K♣.
Ciuca wastes no time and moves all-in for his 23 BB effective stack. Sterba snap-calls, and the cards go on their backs.
The board runs out: 8♠ A♥ 6♦ 10♣ 3♥ — clean for Sterba, who rakes in a pot of nearly 24 million chips.
Ciuca exits in 9th place, earning €8,100 (excluding bounties) for his deep run in the Pirates Poker Treasure Main Event.
Artem Komarov out in 8th place!

One of the key hands of this Final Table featured none other than Jakub Sterba, who opened from UTG+1 holding A♣ Q♠ with a deep stack of 80 big blinds. Just to his left, Safwane Bahri woke up with K♠ K♥ and opted for a 3-bet to 6 big blinds, behind a stack of 54 BB.
But the real action came from Artem Komarov in the cutoff, who looked down at A♠ K♣ and decided to shove for 43 big blinds effective. Fernando Alonso and Neculai Macovei quickly got out of the way, and action returned to Sterba, who released his hand.
Of course, Bahri had no intention of folding and made the call, setting up a massive 44-million-chip pot.
The board ran out Q♦ Q♣ 6♣, followed by the 10♠ on the turn and the 7♥ on the river — clean for the Frenchman.
Artem Komarov was eliminated in 8th place, earning €9,900 (excluding bounties), while Bahri surged past the 100 big blind mark and took firm control of the chip lead.
Neculai Macovei is the 7th place finisher!

Down to just 10 big blinds, Neculai Macovei runs into a rather unlucky spot. After Jakub Sterba opens from UTG with A♦Q♦, sitting on 21 big blinds, the Romanian finds A♣Q♣ in the small blind with about 8 BB and makes the obvious shove. It’s an easy call for the Czech.
They go to showdown, seemingly headed for a split pot — but the flop brings 8♦ 10♦ 2♣, giving Sterba a nut flush draw. The draw completes on the 9♦ turn, leaving Macovei drawing dead. The 9♠ river is irrelevant, and the pot of 17.6 million chips slides to Sterba.
Neculai Macovei exits in 7th place, taking home €12,900, Mystery Bounty winnings aside.
Angelo De Marco out in 6th place!

Angelo De Marco finishes in 6th place at the Pirates Poker Treasure Main Event, after a blinds battle against Fernando Alonso.
Alonso, holding 10♠ 10♦, shoves his 16 big blind stack. De Marco, with A♦ J♠ in the big blind and 13 BB behind, makes the call.
The board runs out 4♥ 3♠ 10♣ 4♠ 7♦, giving Alonso a full set and sealing De Marco’s elimination. Angelo De Marco earns €16,900, while Alonso rakes in a pot worth 30 million chips.
Jakub Sterba finishes in 5th place

After an open from Safwane Anwar Bahri under the gun with 83 big blinds, Jakub Sterba moves all-in from the big blind with K♣ Q♥, holding 13 big blinds. The Frenchman quickly calls with A♥ K♦.
Sterba’s tournament life is on the line, but the board runs out 4♥ 9♦ 5♠ 2♠ 7♥, offering no help. The pot goes to Bahri once again, who continues to build his stack. Jakub Sterba exits in 5th place, taking home €21,400.
Marko Bajic out in 4th place

The next elimination doesn’t take long to arrive. This time it’s Marko Bajic who hits the rail. After an open from Alessandro Pagliuso holding K♥ Q♦, Bajic shoves his 6.6 big blinds from the small blind with 4♥ 4♦. The big blind folds and Pagliuso makes the call.
The flop comes 6♥ 5♥ J♥, giving Pagliuso a flush draw. The Q♠ on the turn flips the hand in his favor, and the 9♦ on the river seals it, with no help for Bajic.
Pagliuso takes down an 18-million chip pot, while Marko Bajic finishes in 4th place, collecting €26,900 in cash plus a €10,350 WSOP Europe Main Event ticket.
Fernando Alonso is the 3rd place finisher!

Three-handed play barely lasts a moment, as Fernando Alonso, holding A♥ 9♦ and sitting on 18 big blinds, shoves all-in from the small blind. Safwane Anwar Bahri, with over 100 big blinds in the big blind, quickly calls with 8♠ 8♦.
The flop comes 8♥ 2♥ J♠, giving the Frenchman a set and leaving Alonso with just 6% equity. The 6♣ on the turn seals his fate, and the 3♣ on the river changes nothing.
Safwane Bahri scoops another pot and sends Alonso out in 3rd place, good for €38,900 plus a €10,350 WSOP Europe Main Event ticket.
Safwane Anwar Bahri takes down the trophy, Pagliuso runner-up!

The heads-up match began with Safwane Anwar Bahri holding a 3-to-1 chip lead over Alessandro Pagliuso. Before the action resumed, the two finalists agreed to an ICM deal, leaving the title and trophy to be played for.
The duel lasted about 20 minutes. After some back-and-forth swings, Pagliuso found himself with just 10 big blinds and shoved from the big blind after a button limp from Bahri. The Frenchman held K♣ 8♥, while the Italian had Q♠ 9♣.
The board came 2♦ 9♠ 3♣, giving Pagliuso top pair. The 6♦ on the turn and 7♣ on the river secured a crucial double-up, reigniting hopes of a comeback.
However, a few hands later came the final blow. Bahri, on the button with A♠ J♣, limped once again. Pagliuso, holding 6♥ 6♦, shoved all-in from the big blind. Snap-call from Bahri.
The board ran out 8♥ 5♦ A♣ Q♥ 5♥, giving the Frenchman top pair and ending the tournament.

Alessandro Pagliuso finishes as runner-up, earning €56,900 plus a €10,350 WSOP Europe Main Event ticket.
Safwane Anwar Bahri claims the Pirates Poker Treasure Main Event title and the biggest share of the prize pool: €101,400 plus the WSOP Europe Main Event ticket.
