🇩🇪 Daagobert wins the European Championship Of Poker Main Event!

Entries 250

After three intense days of battle, the European Championship of Poker Main Event comes to an end, crowning Dagobert as the champion. The German outlasted a field of 250 entries, securing the trophy after a thrilling final table packed with action and dramatic showdowns.

Although there was no live streaming of the event, we covered every moment on our live blog, which you can check out at THIS LINK. The tournament’s conclusion was particularly heartbreaking for runner-up KingKhan, who saw the title slip through his fingers after a cruel river card.

What looked like a sure victory turned into disappointment in the final hand, despite his impressive performance throughout the final table.

We caught up with Dagobert for a brief interview to hear his thoughts on the victory. Below, you can relive the key moments of the final table and how the action unfolded.

“It was an unbelievable final table,” he said. “So many showdowns, I don’t even remember all of them. I think the ticket bubble took us like six hours, maybe five. It was quite a crazy time. There were some very good players. Moussa played really well, and Mephisto too. Both were very aggressive.”

Unfortunately, there was no live streaming of the event, but all the action was covered on the blog. “Now I’m really happy,” he continued. “I come here often to King’s, maybe every two months.”

Asked if he was a professional player, he clarified, “Oh, really? No, I’m not. I play regularly but not as a pro.”

Reflecting on his poker journey, he recalled his first deep run in a major event. “The first big one I played was the WSOP Circuit Series Mini Main Event, where I finished second,” he said. “But today is different. Today, I finally won. This is my first trophy.”

Clearly emotional about the victory, he added, “I’m very happy, very happy… and tired.”

When asked if this win would change his plans and push him toward playing bigger tournaments, he remained humble. “I will just play with the ticket now,” he said. “The WSOP Europe Main Event. And if I need to, I can make a rebuy. That’s fine.”

With that, the interview ended, and Daagobert left to celebrate his victory, now officially a champion.

Payout

Here's a recap of the final table action:

Maryline Valente busts in 9th place – €4,550

The first elimination at the final table comes quickly, as Maryline Valente moves all-in on the very first hand with just 130,000 chips at 20,000/40,000 blinds. She shoves with pocket threes, and Abrechner calls from the big blind with A♣ K♠.

The board initially favors Valente with 8♠ 7♠ 4♦ 8♦, but an A♠ on the river seals her fate. She is eliminated in 9th place, earning €4,550, while the game continues with Mousa in control of the chip lead.

2121 is the 8th place finisher – €5,450

In a blind vs. blind confrontation, Mousa opens from the big blind, and 2121 moves all-in for 15 big blinds with Q♥ Q♦. Mousa snap-calls with A♠ K♣.

The board runs out 5♥ 10♦ K♦ 8♥ 4♠, pairing Mousa’s king and eliminating 2121 in 8th place for €5,450. With this pot, Mousa solidifies his chip lead, while the final table continues with seven players.

Flurim Alija is the 7th place finisher – €7,450

Short-stacked and down to just 5 big blinds, Flurim Alija moves all-in with A♦ 8♦ and is called by KingKhan in the big blind, who holds A♣ J♣.

The board runs out 8♠ 2♣ Q♥ J♣ 3♠, giving KingKhan the winning hand with a paired jack. With this, Flurim Alija is eliminated in 7th place for €7,450.

Abrechner is the 6th place finisher – €10,100

With just three big blinds, Abrechner is forced all-in from the small blind, after Mousa opens the action. Daagobert also completes from the big blind.

The board runs out Q♦ 5♦ 4♣ 8♥ K♦, and Mousa wins the hand with A♦ K♥, eliminating Abrechner in 6th place for €10,100. Despite starting the final table as one of the short stacks, Abrechner managed to ladder up several spots.

Randy Marsh busts in 5th place – €13,400

A critical hand sends Randy Marsh to the rail when he takes an aggressive line against Mousa’s open. Defending his big blind with Q♥ 6♥, Randy Marsh check-raises on the 8♥ 5♥ 5♣ flop after Mousa’s c-bet.

The turn brings the 9♣️, and Randy Marsh bets again, setting up a pot-sized shove on the river. The final card is the 6♠, and after Mousa checks, Randy Marsh moves all-in as a bluff. Holding a straight, Mousa makes the call and eliminates Randy Marsh in 5th place for €13,400.

Mousa busts in 4th place – €17,100

After hours of tension on the WSOP Europe Main Event ticket bubble, Mousa is eliminated in a crucial preflop clash against Mephisto.

Sitting on 15 big blinds, Mousa shoves from the button with K♠ Q♦, only to run into Mephisto’s pocket aces.

The board runs out 7♦ K♠ A♠ 8♣ 5♦, securing the double-up for Mephisto and knocking Mousa out in 4th place for €17,100. Despite leading for large stretches of the tournament, Mousa falls just short of another EuroRounders trophy and a WSOP Europe Main Event seat.

Mephisto is the 3rd place finisher - €21,200

Just one hand after losing a crucial flip, Mephisto is eliminated in a blind vs. blind battle against his nemesis, KingKhan.

The action is all preflop, with Mephisto shoving his short stack with A♠ 6♦, only to be called by KingKhan holding K♣ 4♦.

The board runs out 9♠ 5♦ 3♦ 4♦ J♣, pairing KingKhan’s four and sending Mephisto to the rail in 3rd place.

With this elimination, Mephisto cashes €21,200 and secures a €10,350 WSOP Europe Main Event ticket, while KingKhan moves into heads-up play with Daagobert for the €43,800 first-place prize.

Daagobert wins the European Championship of Poker Main Event, KingKhan

The heads-up battle comes to an end just a few hands later, crowning Daagobert as the first-ever champion of the European Championship of Poker Main Event!

It all concludes with a preflop all-in, where Daagobert holds the better starting hand with K♣ J♦ against KingKhan’s K♦ 7♦.

The board runs out 3♣ 9♠ 8♦ Q♥ 5♣, securing the victory for Daagobert, who claims his first career title with an impressive performance—backed by a strong run of cards in the final stages.

Daagobert takes home the €43,800 first-place prize and a WSOP Europe Main Event ticket for his triumph. Meanwhile, KingKhan settles for €29,093 plus a WSOP Europe Main Event ticket.

Despite the strong payout, KingKhan is evidently disappointed, having seen the trophy slip from his grasp in the final moments after coming so close to victory.
