Entries 1899/Left 24

Day 2 of the People’s Poker Tour Main Event has just come to an end. The tournament collected a total of 1,899 entries and will reach its final stage tomorrow, with 24 players returning to the tables. The action will resume at blinds 80,000/160,000 with a 160,000 big blind ante.

It was a particularly intense day, with 240 players at the start, and by the end of the session, it was the amateur from Estonia, Meelis Uusen, who stood out — bagging a massive 14,210,000 chips, roughly three and a half times the tournament average. Beaming with joy, here’s what the man of the day had to say:

Today started really, really badly. I wasn’t playing well at all in the beginning. I actually had to call a friend, and he helped calm me down — that made a big difference.

I started the day with 486,000 chips, so a decent stack, but nothing crazy. And somehow, I managed to run it up to 14 million. I’ve definitely been lucky, no doubt about that. Of course, I also played a bit — but let’s be honest, you need luck in this game.

I’m not a professional player. I don’t do this for a living, but I do play often. I really enjoy it.

I’ve never won a big tournament before — nothing major, at least. I’ve been close to the final table a few times. I think the biggest first prize I’ve played for was around €400,000, but I didn’t win it.

Now I’m chip leader with 24 players left. First prize is €124,000 plus a Main Event ticket… it really feels like a dream.

Fourth and fifth place are held by another German, Taulos, who bagged 5,080,000 chips, and Macedonian player Petru Tarlev, who closed with 4,350,000. The complete list, including the official seat redraw for tomorrow’s Final Day, is available below.
